Rehnuma and Faraaz

Rehnuma and Faraaz had their civil ceremony at Birmingham registry office before a change of dress and then headed off to the Forest of Arden hotel for their religious ceremony. This was an interesting wedding for me with a whole different range of emotions to my usual weddings.  Rehnuma’s family are Bangladeshi and it is custom for the bride to display sadness as she is leaving her father’s care. These were some of the most beautiful moments of the day for me, the sense of respect and loyalty to her family was authentic and touching. And on the other side of the spectrum, I loved the exuberance of the negotiating – the groom had to barter his way through into the hotel with a wad full of notes…after trying to fob off the bride’s brother with a fiver for some Quality Street!

    Dear Fjona

These are the most amazing and beautiful wedding photos I have ever seen! They are true works of art. But perhaps more importantly than the finished product was the experience you created throughout the day. You were so kind, generous, caring, warm and loving towards everyone. Despite your role as official photographer, I mainly wasn’t aware of you taking the photographs. You are so gifted at being in the right place at the right time without making people feel that they have to act to have a good photograph taken.

We are looking forward to see the full collection when Rehnuma and Faraaz are ready to show them, but this small selection is incredible.

Hope I get a reason to commission you one day!!
